Aspen Lodge, Nethy Bridge Aspen Lodge, Nethy Bridge

Indoors

Our aim is to make your stay in our cottage really relaxed and comfortable. We welcome children and up to 2 well behaved dogs. Aspen Lodge has been recently renovated while retaining its charm and character.

Aspen Lodge will sleep 6 comfortably in the 3 large bedrooms (1 king-size master, 2 twins). One of the twin bedrooms is downstairs. There is also a double sofa-bed in the dining room so we can accommodate a maximum of 8 people at any time. Please note that there is a £25 surcharge for parties larger than 6 to reflect the extra cleaning and laundry costs.

We also provide a cot in the master bedroom, high chair, potty and toddler step. Towels and bed linen are included.

There is so much to do outdoors, but even if you just fancy a stay-at-home day, the oil central heating and wood-burning stove in the living room mean that every day is a cosy day! A basket of logs for the stove is also included.

The living room also contains a 32" flat screen TV with Sky TV (FreeSat channels), DVD player, video player and a large collection of family films, books and good old family games. There is also a CD / radio and iPod player.

The kitchen/diner contains everything you need to self-cater, including a dishwasher, washer/dryer, tall fridge/freezer, microwave, touch control electric ceramic hob with child lock and electric fan oven.

The bathroom contains a bath with thermostatic mixer shower above the bath and sliding bath screen, a toilet and basin. There is also a full height heated towel rail and a Sheila's Maid - perfect for airing and drying your clothes after a day of skiing, walking or cycling!

Upstairs there is a separate shower room with electric shower, heated towel rail, toilet and basin.

There is a flat screen TV in the Master Bedroom with Sky TV (free-to-air channels), DVD player & iPod docking station and a bedside clock / radio.

We want your holiday to be safe as well as fun. Aspen Lodge contains a fire extinguisher and fire blanket in the kitchen. To keep children and pets safe, we provide a fire guard, a stair gate and some socket covers.

The village store and post office is just across the road and the excellent local butcher is just around the corner. Take advantage of the convenient pre-order service offered and have your groceries or meat ready for collection or delivered direct to the cottage.

If you fancy a change from cooking, the local hotel is within walking distance or try the pubs and restaurants in nearby Aviemore or Grantown!

There is no phone in the cottage but most mobiles receive a signal and there is a payphone across the road.

Outdoors

Outdoors, the large back garden is enclosed making it safe for pets and children. There is a patio area with table, chairs and parasol. We also provide a BBQ to maximise your enjoyment of the outdoor space.

There is also a shed where you can store equipment such as bikes, golf clubs and skis (depending on the season!).

There is plenty of parking at the front and back of the cottage. Parking is at your own risk.

History of Aspen Lodge

Aspen Lodge used to be the Old Police Station in the heart of the village and is full of character and history.

Although the house has been renovated over the years, many original features have been retained, for example the prison cell door and some of the window bars!

It was renamed Aspen Lodge on account of the fine stand of Aspen trees in the back garden of the house.
